Sense of smell




Worked with children of 5-6 years old


We work the sense of smell, but with the literature we talk about the description of smalls and some vocabulary, but this is more from the class of topic.


Pre-teaching

First we remember the 5 senses we have and then we learn a bit about what it is the sense so the smell.

For that I used this PowerPoint where I read with them (point and very slowly), and after each reading I exlain and they say what they want or to questions that I them, the majority of them relationated with their live experience.







Actual teaching







But then by teams they were to different smelly table (5 tables) and they have a paper where they have to write the number of the pot (they have to smell), what is inside (they have some written down of the page so that they only have to select the right one) and finally write if they like it or not.
With my clap they has to change to the next table (where is a different smell/pot)



















Post-teaching


Finally with the interactive board we revise (the children smell it again) the smell and join with what it is with the interactive board. 

Here we also talk about what we like or not and try to say why.
