ICT

In this page I’m going to present you some programs that can be used by children as school projects…

But before I recommend you to enter in the following link and visualize the video, because it is so interesting about the ICTs at school:
https://www.coursera.org/course/ictinprimary

Here I’m only going to put some information but in activities for children’s literature you will be able to see some work ideas applicable to some books.

Mindomo: Revolutionize the way your students think and develop their own ideas and concepts Through mind mapping, teachers can guide students not only to master a great variety of concepts, but to develop essential learning and thinking skills: generating new ideas; synthesizing and structuring information; problem-solving; decision-making; using evidence to support their claims; accurate planning.

Glogster: What do you want to learn? Canvas freedom allows expression to take over: mix text, audio, video, images, graphics and more from your files, our pre-designed graphics, or around the web using the inbuilt Web picker browser, yielding high-impact content with simple elegance.

There is another called BITESLIDE that is very similar to Glogster, here I put the web side.

Goanimate: (formerly known and sometimes stylized as Go!Animate) is a cloud-based platform for creating and distributing animated videos. It allows users to develop both narrative videos, in which characters speak with lip-sync and move around, and video presentations, in which a voice-over narrator speaks over images and props, which may also move around. The service is provided on a freemium basis to consumers and has multiple subscription levels available for businesses. GoAnimate provides users with drag-and-drop tools that the company's website indicates can be used to access thousands of character models, backdrops, and other assets to create scenario-based videos - like political videos depicted during the 2012 presidential campaign. The platform offers text-to-speech character voices with customizable environments.

wordcloud: A word cloud is an attractive way of visualising a large chunk of text in a more pleasing way. It shows the most frequent words used throughout the text. The larger the text, the more commonly it was used. It’s a good way of seeing which words are used the most in any piece of writing.

Here are just a few ideas on how you could use Wordcloud in the classroom:

Guess the book
Use to introduce a topic
Comparing different newspapers
Use to analyse the content and gist a longer written text, especially with exam or higher level groups
To introduce new vocabulary or to memorise new vocabulary/vocabulary lists
Revision of key topics and vocabulary
To give presentations without reading from a sheet and just using prompts
Encouraging creative writing from a selection of key words from a word

There are a variety of ways of using student and teacher created movies in the classroom. Children of all ages enjoy making a creating educational movies. In using iMovie in your classroom you are not only teaching students how to make a movie, but you are teaching them the value and time spent in creating a project. Students are proud of their hard work and have an apperication for how much effort goes into Hollywood films.
Directions for the movie will be discussed in class. Below you will find the rubric that will be used to evaluate your movie. Lights, Camera, ACTION!
